Some of Our Favorites: Canticle of the Plains In the summer of 1997, Rich Mullins asked Tapestry to produce his musical Canticle of the Plains. It was during production that Mullins was killed in a car accident. The production went on to premiere in October of that year. Tapestry produced Canticle for the second time in 1999. LegacyFest 1999 & 2000 The Legacy of a Kid Brother of St. Frank holds an arts and music festival each August in Wichita. Tapestry has been involved with the festival since its inception. The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre For two seasons, (1998-2000) Tapestry produced plays and musicals at The PRDT. Some of the highlights were The Foreigner, A Tuna Christmas and Two highly successful Christmas productions. The Art and Souls Christian Arts Institute Tapestry Performing Arts hosted an eight-week fine arts seminar in the Summer of 1997 featuring classes in art, voice, piano, guitar, spiritual dance, tap dance, gospel choir and a Christian Young Women's class. We were blessed with more than 80 students age 12 to 60 and more than seventy-five percent were attending on full or partial scholarships. Tapestry has also produced, directed and choreographed more than 30 university, high school, children's and deaf theatre productions including Will Roger's Follies, Jesus Christ Superstar, Godspell, Oklahoma, Grease, Anything Goes, Joseph and the...Dreamcoat.
