Nonfiction:

The Ragamuffin Gospel by Brennan Manning
If you are a Christian and haven't read this, it could change everything. It did for me. If you are not a Christian, read this and you'll see what it is REALLY all about.

Embracing the Love of God by James Bryan Smith
This is one of the best books describing God and Christianity in its truest light. It along with The Ragamuffin Gospel completely changed my faith. Excellent for non or new believers.

Traveling Mercies by Ann Lamott
Finally, I found a fresh look at faith. This is not Yancey or Lucado.

Fiction

Snowcrash by Neil Stephenson
Who wouldn't love a book with the main character, "Hiro Protagonist"? I don't read a lot of sci -fi, but this one's excellent.

A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving
I don't know that I have that many weird quirks, but I can't see a used copy of this book without buying it. If you don't love this book, there is something wrong with you. Really. See a doctor. This is the #1 fiction MUST READ. Ask anybody who's read it.
