Kevin Brocksieck (Frank/Music Director) Kevin is thrilled to be reprising the role of Frank for the 99 edition of Canticle. He is Co-Director of Tapestry Performing Arts, Inc. and a local musician, composer and freelance writer. Some of his favorite roles include Joseph in Joseph and the Dreamcoat, Jack in Into the Woods and, of course, Frank in the 1997 production. Kevin would like to especially thank his wife Nicole, Mitch, Rich, Doug and Cindy, Robert C. Barnes and all of his in-laws and extended family, He dedicates this show to three who could not be here, his brother Steve in San Francisco and his parents, Harry and Barbara who are missionaries in Finland and Russia.
Robert C. Barnes (Buzz) Robert has performed at just about every theatre in Wichita including; The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre, Cabaret Old Town, Mosley Street Melodrama and, most recently, in Stage Ones production of Words and Music. Robert also performed Off-Broadway in the Christian musical, Ram in the Thicket (where he met Nicole-Capri), and is proud to return to reprise his role from the 1997 production of Canticle of the Plains. Robert would like to dedicate this show to all cancer survivors and to his Father who died of cancer. Robert is also a recent cancer survivor and says, I thank God that I am able to come back and do this show!
Doug Eltzroth (Ivory) Doug is happy to be joining Tapestry and the cast of Canticle. Doug is a singer and songwriter dedicated to the praise and inspiration genre. His songs have been recorded by Bill & Gloria Gaither, Buddy Green many others. His music is sung each week by the church at large. Many songs have been translated from English into several languages and are used around the world. Doug and his wife, Cindy, and their three children personally minister internationally with a number of different groups through their ministry called Collage: A Collection of Arts and Artists (Collage.org.)
Megan Hughes
(Clare) Megan was involved in the original Canticle of the Plains
production in 1997 and she is thrilled to be involved in this production. Megan
is originally from Nebraska and is a senior at Friends University studying art
and Spanish. Megan would like to eventually become a teacher but says that her
only true goal is to know Him more.
Laketta Corner (Mrs. Johnson) Laketta is proud to return as Mrs. Johnson
for a second time. Laketta has performed on many local stages and some of her
favorites include; Crown Uptown Dinner Theatres production of Best Little
Whorehouse in Texas and Wichita State Universitys Aint Misbehavin.
This September, Laketta is looking forward to singing in the reunion concert
for the gospel music group Shekinah.
Tim Tallent (Lefty) Tim Tallent joins the cast of Canticle during a successful run of The Foreigner at The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre. Some of Tims favorite roles include Kastshei in Stan Rogers Firebird, Arles in The Prime Rib Dinner Theatres Greater Tuna, Mr. Applegate in Damn Yankees and Cord Elam in Discoverylands production of Oklahoma! Offstage, Tim loves to spend time with his adorable 2 year old daughter Abby and his lovely wife Lisa. Tim will be a senior this fall at Friends University where he looks forward to directing his first musical, performing with The Singing Quakers, and ,last but not least, completing his degree in Musical Theatre.
Kimberly Guerrero (Rhoda) Kimberly Norris Guerrero is a native of Oklahoma and a graduate of UCLA. She is an enrolled member of the Colville Confederated Tribes in Washington State and has appeared in film and television roles including Seinfeld, As The World Turns, Northern Exposure, and Geronimo to name a few. Kimberly lives in Nashville, TN with her husband Johnny Guerrero who is a songwriter/producer and member of the contemporary reggae group Temple Yard.
Nupa Two Shoes (Chief Hastiin Nashdoi) Nupa was born in Crow Dogs Paradise, Grass Mountain, South Dakota on the Rosebud Indian Reservation and spent most of his life in Montana on the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Indian Reservation. Nupa recently moved to Wichita and plans to attend WSU for the fall semester. Canticle of the Plains is Nupas theatrical debut!
Frank Keith (Mr. X) Frank is happy to be joining the cast of Canticle, and to be working with such great talent. He has worked extensively with Nicole and Kevin at The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre, (Whos Happy Now?, Greater Tuna and The Foreigner) as well as many other stages in town. He has also designed sets for Andover Community Theatre and Wichita State University. Frank is the owner of Agents of COMICS and is heard every Sunday on 1330 KFHs WarpZone.
Danl Blackwood (Father) Danl Blackwood (now a System Administrator for Printing Inc.) spent fifteen years on the road as a professional musician, including professional theater appearances as Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar and Jim in Pump Boys and Dinettes. Being part of this production of Canticle is a special treat for Danl as he is also webmaster for The Rich Mullins Mailing List Archive Page - kidbrothers.net/rmml/, The Legacy Of A Kid Brother Of St Frank - kidbrothers.org, and Mitch McVicker mitchmcvicker.com. Danl and his wife Diane, have two daughters, Britta and Jessie.
Vonda Newby (Mother) Vonda is very excited to working on this fantastic project (and to be playing Kevins mother once again the last time was in Into the Woods!) Most recently, Vonda could be seen as Mme. Pernelle in WSUs production of Tartuffe, Mrs. Potts in Picnic at The Kechi Playhouse, Mrs. Windsor in Apartment of Many Windows and Rheba in You Cant Take It With You at Rosehill Community Theatre. Vonda also recently completed her masters in theatre at WSU. Vonda wishes to thank her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and her very supportive family & friends.
Cynthia A. Newland (Dancer) Cindy is the creator and director of New Trails, the dance division of Collage. She began her dance training at the age of four, earned both her B.F.A. and M.F.A. in Dance, and now ministers through this art form in the San Francisco Bay Area, throughout the United States and abroad with her husband Doug Eltzroth and their family. As a teacher, choreographer, and performer, Cindy is able to offer her gifts for different occasions such as concerts, retreats, workshops and other special events.
Kari Livengood (Dance Captain) Kari Livengood is a native of Wichita and graduate of Friends University. She is an accomplished tap, jazz and clogging instructor and has been dancing for more than 20 years. This is Karis second appearance in The Canticle of the Plains both as a dancer and choreographer. When Kari isnt dancing, she works as a veterinary technician for All Creatures Veterinary Hospital in Wichita.
Angie Bickham (Dancer) Angie is very excited to be a part of this inspirational production! Angie just transferred from Friends University to WSU to finish her Music Theatre degree. At Friends, she was a member of the Singing Quakers and the Friends Unlimited Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Some of Angies most recent roles include; Dulcie in The Boyfriend and Mary in Cottonpatch Gospel as well as appearances in Stage Ones productions of Oh, Kay and Words & Music by Comden & Green. Special thanks to Mom and Dad, and, most of all, to God for helping me to fulfill my dreams!
Trudy Cunningham (Dancer) Trudy is a senior at Calvary Chapel Christian School and a dancer in the Friends University Company. Trudy has been dancing for eleven years and plans to attend Friends University with dreams of one day dancing with a professional company. This is her second opportunity to perform in Canticle of the Plains. Trudy wishes to thank God, her parents and her friends for their love and support.
Catherine Hammer (Dancer) Catherine is a native of Shawnee, KS, and is currently a junior at Friends University where she is a pursuing a double major in ballet and in musical theatre. Catherine has performed various roles in the ballet departments production of The Nutcracker and is a member of The Singing Quakers. Most recently, Catherine could be seen in the Friends University production of The Boyfriend.
Kristin Kendall (Dancer) Kristin is thrilled to be part of this production and working among such talent and friends! Kristin is a graduate of Friends University with a B.F.A. in ballet. Kristin has performed with the Wichita Ballet Theater, Stage One Productions, Crown Uptown Dinner Theater and the Wichita Childrens Theatre. She is also a choreographer for many theaters and schools around Wichita. Kristin would like to thank God for this opportunity and Aaron for his love and support.
Megan Koppenhaver (Dancer, Voice of Eagle) Megan was a dancer in the Wichita Premiere of Canticle two years ago and feels very blessed to be a part of this awesome show once again. Megan is a junior at Friends University majoring in Musical Theatre, and some of her favorite credits include: leading roles in The Boyfriend and She Loves Me at Friends University, Laundry and Bourbon at The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre (where she had the pleasure of working with Nicole and Kevin!), and appearances at Stage One and Music Theatre of Wichitas Festival of Broadway. Megan would like to thank the cast and crew for this unforgettable experience and would like to dedicate her performance to God. You Are All!
Gina Lambrecht (Dancer) Gina is currently studying Ballet and Business Administration at Friends University. Originally from Nebraska, Ginas passion for dance has grown tremendously since arriving in Wichita. Performing in shows that vary from Oklahoma! and The Boyfriend to The Nutcracker and Firebird ~ Gina loves all styles of dance! For me, this has been the most inspiring show! The music, dancing, people and message are so uplifting you cant help but be moved! My thanks to everyone and to God for this amazing opportunity!
Alissa Runnells (Dancer) A native Texan, Alissa is finishing her degrees in Ballet and English Education at Friends University. While in Texas, she choreographed productions for local schools and churches as well as performing in several large productions including; The Promise, Bobbysox and Oklahoma!. Here in Wichita, she has performed in Friends Universitys productions of The Nutcracker, Firebird and Symphony of Spring. After graduating from Friends, Alissa hopes to begin teaching ballet and liturgical dance.
Bruce H. Wilson (Singer/Dancer) Bruce is thrilled to return to Wichita to spend the summer with his family and all his cherished hometown friends. Bruce received his BA degree in Musical Theatre from Friends University in 1995, and then re-located to New York City to study at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy, Bruce recently completed a two year national tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and is currently playing the title role in The Foreigner at The Prime Rib Dinner Theatre through August 28th. Gavin Dreiling (Singer) Gavin is extremely honored to be joining such a talented cast! Some of Gavins favorite roles include Jesus in Godspell, Matthew in Cottonpatch Gospel, and Adam in Kansas first ever Theatre for the Deaf production of The Apple Tree (directed by Nicole-Capri Brocksieck.) Gavin is a recent graduate of Friends University and is currently playing the role of Owen Musser in The Prime Rib Dinner Theatres production of The Foreigner. When Gavin isnt performing, he enjoys spending time with his family, and playing the piano. Shoot for the moon . . . even if you miss, youll land among the stars.
Stuart Bogle (Singer) Stuart is happy to be back on stage with the cast of Canticle after a five year break from theatre to concentrate on the study of jiu-jitsu. Some of his favorite roles were in shows such as A Few Good Men, Henry V, Guys and Dolls, Desert Song, Singin in the Rain and St. Joan to name a few.
David Sprinkle (Singer) (Unrelated to Kathy Sprinkle) Dave lives in Augusta, KS with his beautiful wife Lisa. Dave is a musician (by night!) and is currently working with The Legacy of a Kid Brother of St. Frank. Dave (and his beard) are making their Wichita theatrical debut!
