Zero-Waste Goal!

All of us at the Tapestry Arts Festival are committed to making 2009 our ZERO WASTE year by diverting as much of the trash AWAY from landfill and into compost and recycling. Our partnership with the City of San Jose will provide Eco-Friendly stations throughout the event, with helpful volunteers to help you determine where to deposit your disposables.

Each Eco-Station will contain 3 types of bins: trash, recycle and compost. Please take the extra time to throw the right items in the right bin.
All of the vendors at the Tapestry Arts Festival will be using beverage cups, plates, bowls, and utensils made from sugarcane and corn that are 100% compostable.

Recycle:

Aluminum cans
Plastic bottles, tubs & lids

Glass bottles
Tin foil
Aluminum Foil
*Outside plastic cups (Peets, Starbucks)

Compost:
Food
Event Beer Cups
Event Utensils
Event Plates
Paper products (napkins, etc.)
Newspaper and Magazines
Straws

Trash:
Plastic bags, wrap or outside coffee cups
Styrofoam
Plastics other than listed above
Juice Boxes / pouches

Kettle Corn bags
Candy Wrappers

When in doubt, please throw it in the trash to avoid contaminating recycle and compost bins
