MISSION
Tapestry Arts nurtures creativity by advocating the arts and providing
arts education programs to the community.
HISTORY
Tapestry Arts began in 1976 as part of the country's bicentennial
celebration and continues to this day with the annual Tapestry Arts
Festival each Labor Day Weekend. The festival is a three-day celebration
of the visual and performing arts held on the streets of downtown San
Jose. However, this is just the beginning of Tapestry's community arts
connection. Proceeds from the festival help fund our
arts education programs in elementary schools
throughout the South Bay.
Known for many years as
Tapestry In Talent,
the organization changed its name to Tapestry Arts in 2002. Tapestry Arts
is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
