Art instructors wanted!

Tapestry Arts is a nonprofit arts organization, founded in 1976.  Our mission is to provide opportunities for the community to interact with the arts.  Tapestry delivers art education and outreach programs to children and adults in a variety of setting, including schools, shelters and community centers.  We believe a complete education includes the arts.  Tapestry hires and trains artists to teach curriculum-based arts classes.  Programs include short and long term residencies, workshops, performances, exhibitions and "World Moves" a multicultural dance residency concluding with a professionally staged performance.

We are currently seeking:

Visual Artists - Performing Artists - Musicians - Dancers

Do you have teaching experience? Do you wish to pass on the value of the arts to children and adults in our community? Tapestry Arts is looking for artists with creative ideas, a professional attitude, good communication skills and flexible schedules. Do you have the expertise to teach children, youth and adults about puppetry, theatre, dance, music, storytelling, poetry, visual arts, murals, crafts, quilting, ceramics or ?

Artists employed for Tapestry Arts education programs are competitively compensated for their training time, prep time, teaching time, site meetings, evaluations and performances or exhibitions.  Selection and placement are based on experience and a comprehensive interview process.  Artists are responsible for and compensated for procuring necessary supplies for their programs.
Artists work on a contract basis with Tapestry Arts. Fingerprinting may be required.

Tapestry Arts teams with artists to design projects that integrate the artistic process with learning and creativity in a variety of settings and multicultural environments.
